P/S for Wet Film
The wet film preparation (P/S) test is used to identify microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, or parasites in body fluids. Preparation involves collecting a sample, often from vaginal discharge or wound fluid. During the test, the sample is placed on a slide with saline, creating a ""wet mount"" for microscopic examination. Risks are minimal but may include slight discomfort during sample collection. After the test, no special care is needed. Results are interpreted by identifying pathogens or abnormal cells.
