Peritoneal Fluid for Anti TB IgM
This test detects antibodies (IgM) against tuberculosis (TB) in peritoneal fluid, helping diagnose peritoneal tuberculosis. Preparation involves ensuring the patient is in a proper position for fluid extraction. During the test, a needle is inserted into the abdomen to collect peritoneal fluid. Risks include discomfort, infection, or bleeding at the site. After the test, mild soreness may occur. Results indicate the presence of TB antibodies, confirming infection. Elevated IgM levels suggest recent TB infection, while negative results may require further investigation. Conditions like concurrent infections or immune suppression can affect accuracy.1400 BDT
