CA 19-9
CA 19-9 (Cancer Antigen 19-9) is a tumor marker commonly used to monitor certain cancers, particularly pancreatic cancer, as well as other gastrointestinal cancers such as colorectal, stomach, and bile duct cancers. It is also used to assess treatment effectiveness and detect recurrence. However, CA 19-9 levels can be elevated in non-cancerous conditions like pancreatitis, liver disease, and bile duct obstructions. The test is not recommended for general cancer screening due to its lack of specificity, and it is usually used in conjunction with other diagnostic procedures.1400 BDT
