ASO Titre
The ASO (Anti-Streptolysin O) Titre test measures the level of antibodies (ASO) produced in response to a Group A Streptococcus infection, typically following a throat infection (like strep throat) or skin infection (such as impetigo). The test is used to diagnose rheumatic fever or post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis. Elevated ASO levels suggest a recent streptococcal infection. A blood sample is drawn, and the procedure has minimal risks, such as slight discomfort or bruising at the needle site.
