The Ascitic Fluid for Anti-TB IgA test detects the presence of IgA antibodies against tuberculosis (TB) in ascitic fluid, which is fluid accumulated in the abdomen, often due to tuberculous peritonitis. The test helps in diagnosing abdominal tuberculosis, a rare but serious complication of TB infection. The fluid is obtained through paracentesis, where a needle is inserted into the abdomen to collect the sample.
