Pericardial Fluid for Anti TB IgG
This test detects antibodies to tuberculosis (TB) in the pericardial fluid, used when TB infection of the heart’s lining is suspected. Preparation involves ensuring proper patient positioning for fluid collection. A needle is inserted into the chest to withdraw pericardial fluid (pericardiocentesis). Risks include infection, bleeding, or injury to the heart. After the test, rest is recommended, and pain or swelling might occur.
