MRI of both temporomandibular (TM) joints is an imaging procedure used to evaluate the structures of the TM joints, which connect the jaw to the skull. No special preparation is typically required, but fasting might be needed if contrast is used. Risks are minimal but can include allergic reactions to the contrast dye and mild discomfort from remaining still.
