LDH
The LDH (lactate dehydrogenase) test measures the level of LDH enzyme in the blood, which is released during tissue damage. Elevated LDH levels can indicate conditions like heart attack, liver disease, muscle injury, or certain cancers. A blood sample is taken, usually without special preparation. Risks are minimal, typically limited to slight discomfort or bruising. High LDH levels suggest tissue damage, while normal levels generally indicate no significant damage.
