A Digital Micturating Cysto-Urethrogram (MCU) is a radiological procedure used to evaluate the urinary bladder, urethra, and associated structures. It involves the use of X-rays and a contrast medium, usually injected into the bladder via a catheter. The patient is asked to urinate during the procedure to assess the bladder’s function and detect abnormalities like reflux, strictures, or blockages. Preparation may involve fasting and bladder emptying. Risks include discomfort, infection, or allergic reactions to the contrast.
