CSF for VDRL
The CSF VDRL test detects syphilis in the central nervous system, commonly used to diagnose neurosyphilis. CSF is collected via lumbar puncture and analyzed for syphilis-specific antibodies. While highly specific, its sensitivity is limited, so a negative result may not rule out the condition. False positives can occur with other infections.
