Anti-Jo-I
The Anti-Jo-1 test detects antibodies against Jo-1, a type of antibody that targets an enzyme called histidyl-tRNA synthetase. These antibodies are commonly associated with polymyositis and dermatomyositis, both of which are inflammatory muscle diseases. The presence of Anti-Jo-1 antibodies is also linked to interstitial lung disease and can be used to confirm these conditions. The test is performed with a blood sample, and the risks are minimal, typically involving slight discomfort during the blood draw.
