Vaginal Scrapping for fungus
The Vaginal Scraping for Fungus test is used to detect fungal infections, such as Candida, in the vagina. A sample of cells and discharge is collected from the vaginal wall using a sterile swab or scraping tool. The sample is then examined under a microscope or cultured to identify fungal organisms. No special preparation is typically required. Risks are minimal, with slight discomfort or irritation during the scraping. A positive result indicates a fungal infection, while a negative result suggests no fungal presence. Treatment is based on the type of infection found.
