Toxo - IgM
The Toxo IgM test detects early antibodies against Toxoplasma gondii, indicating a recent or active infection. It is often used in pregnant women or those with symptoms of toxoplasmosis. No special preparation is needed, and a blood sample is collected. Risks include mild discomfort or bruising at the puncture site. A positive result suggests a recent infection, while a negative result typically means no active infection. Certain medications or other infections may influence results.
