Spot Urine Protein
Spot Urine Protein is a test that measures the concentration of protein in a single urine sample. Normally, urine contains very little protein, but elevated levels may indicate kidney damage or disease, as healthy kidneys filter out most proteins from the blood. This test is commonly used to screen for conditions like glomerulonephritis, diabetic nephropathy, or other forms of kidney dysfunction. The result is typically reported as a protein-to-creatinine ratio, which helps account for variations in urine concentration.
