P53
The P53 test detects mutations in the p53 tumor suppressor gene, often linked to cancer, particularly in tissues like the breast, lung, or colon. Preparation may include fasting or specific instructions from the doctor. During the test, a sample of tissue or blood is taken for analysis. Risks include slight discomfort from blood draw or biopsy. After the test, normal activities can be resumed unless advised otherwise.
