MRS OF SPINE
Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS) of the spine is a non-invasive imaging technique used to analyze the chemical composition of spinal tissues. It helps assess conditions like spinal tumors, infections, inflammation, or degenerative diseases by detecting abnormal levels of metabolites in the spine. During the procedure, the patient lies on a table, and the spine is positioned inside the MRI machine. MRS, which is typically combined with a standard MRI, uses magnetic fields and radio waves to provide detailed information about the metabolic changes in the spinal cord and surrounding tissues.
