MRI of Pelvis
An MRI of the pelvis is a diagnostic imaging procedure that uses magnetic fields and radio waves to generate detailed images of the pelvic organs, including the bladder, reproductive organs (e.g., uterus, ovaries, prostate), and surrounding soft tissues and bones. It is commonly used to evaluate conditions such as tumors, pelvic inflammatory disease, urinary issues, or musculoskeletal problems. No special preparation is usually required, though you may be asked to drink water to fill your bladder or fast if contrast agents are used. During the scan, you will lie still in the MRI machine for about 30-45 minutes. The procedure is painless, and you can resume normal activities afterward.
