It is typically performed to investigate conditions such as tumors (e.g., acoustic neuromas), nerve damage, or abnormalities affecting hearing or balance. No special preparation is usually needed, but you may be asked to remove metal objects. The procedure is painless, and you’ll need to stay still in the MRI machine for about 20-30 minutes.
