Conjunctival Swab(Lt.) for C/S
A Conjunctival Swab (Lt.) for C/S (Culture and Sensitivity) is a test used to detect and identify bacterial infections in the left eye's conjunctiva. During the test, a sample is collected from the conjunctival sac and sent to a laboratory for culture. The sample is cultured to grow any bacteria present, which are then identified. Following identification, a sensitivity test is performed to determine which antibiotics are most effective against the specific bacteria. This test is typically used when there is a suspicion of bacterial conjunctivitis or other eye infections, helping to guide appropriate antibiotic treatment based on the cultured bacteria’s susceptibility.1200 BDT
