Bronchial Washing for C/S
Bronchial Washing for C/S (Culture and Sensitivity) is a diagnostic procedure used to identify infections in the lungs. During a bronchoscopy, a sterile saline solution is introduced into the bronchial tubes and then suctioned out, collecting a sample of mucus and cells. This sample is sent to a laboratory for culture, where it is tested to identify bacteria, fungi, or other pathogens causing the infection. Sensitivity testing is also performed to determine which antibiotics or antifungal treatments will be most effective. Risks include infection, bleeding, and discomfort.
