B - hCG
B-hCG (Beta-Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is a hormone produced during pregnancy by the placenta. The B-hCG test is commonly used to confirm pregnancy, as its levels rise significantly in early pregnancy. It is also used to monitor certain conditions such as ectopic pregnancies, miscarriages, or gestational trophoblastic diseases (like molar pregnancies). Additionally, abnormal B-hCG levels can indicate certain types of cancer, such as testicular or ovarian cancer.
