Serum Uric Acid
The Serum Uric Acid test measures the amount of uric acid in the blood, used to diagnose gout, kidney stones, and certain metabolic disorders. Preparation usually requires fasting for 4–6 hours. During the test, a blood sample is drawn from a vein, which takes only a few minutes. Risks are minimal, with slight pain or bruising at the site.
