GTT 3rd
The 3-hour Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT) is typically performed to confirm gestational diabetes. After fasting for 8–12 hours, a baseline blood sample is taken. The patient then drinks a glucose solution (usually 100g), and blood samples are collected at 1-hour, 2-hour, and 3-hour intervals. Elevated glucose levels at two or more time points indicate gestational diabetes. Risks are minimal but may include nausea, dizziness, or bruising at the needle site. Proper fasting and avoiding factors like stress or certain medications ensure accurate results.
