CT Scan of Right Ankle
A CT scan of the right ankle is used to assess fractures, ligament injuries, infections, or other abnormalities in the bones and soft tissues of the ankle. During the procedure, you will lie on a table while the scanner takes detailed cross-sectional images of the ankle joint. Preparation includes removing any metal objects, such as jewelry or clothing with zippers. The scan is painless, but contrast dye may be used to enhance image clarity. Risks include allergic reactions to contrast dye and radiation exposure. Results are interpreted by analyzing the images for fractures, inflammation, or other conditions.
