Ascitic Fluid for Anti TB IgM
The Ascitic Fluid for Anti-TB IgM test detects the presence of IgM antibodies against tuberculosis (TB) in ascitic fluid. This test is used to diagnose tuberculous peritonitis, a form of abdominal TB caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The test helps differentiate between active TB infection and other causes of ascites. A sample of the ascitic fluid is collected through paracentesis, a procedure where a needle is inserted into the abdomen. Risks include mild discomfort or infection at the puncture site. A positive result indicates recent or active TB infection in the abdomen.1400 BDT
