Vitreous Aspirate for C/S
The Vitreous Aspirate for C/S (Culture and Sensitivity) test is used to identify bacterial or fungal infections in the vitreous humor of the eye, typically in cases of endophthalmitis or other intraocular infections. A sample of vitreous fluid is collected using a sterile needle, usually under local anesthesia. The fluid is then cultured to identify any microorganisms and determine which antibiotics or antifungals will be most effective. Risks include mild discomfort, infection, or injury to the eye. A positive result indicates an infection, while a negative result suggests no microbial growth. Normal activities can resume after recovery.1200 BDT
