MRI of Tongue
An MRI of the tongue is used to evaluate its structure, detect tumors, inflammation, infections, or other abnormalities. During the procedure, the patient lies on a table, and the head is positioned within the MRI machine. Strong magnetic fields and radio waves create detailed images of the tongue and surrounding tissues. No special preparation is usually needed, but patients may be asked to avoid eating for a few hours beforehand.
