SSF from Axilla
SSF (Superficial Scraping for Fungi) from the axilla (armpit) is a diagnostic test used to detect fungal infections in the skin folds of the armpit. This test involves scraping a sample from the affected area of the skin, which is then sent to a laboratory for culture. Common fungal infections in this area include Candida (yeast infections) and dermatophyte infections like tinea corporis (ringworm).
