Pericardial Fluid for C/S
This test is used to identify infections in the pericardial sac around the heart. Preparation involves fasting before the procedure. During the test, a sample of pericardial fluid is obtained via a procedure called pericardiocentesis, where a needle is inserted into the chest to withdraw fluid. Risks include infection, bleeding, and damage to heart structures. After the test, patients may experience soreness or bruising.
