Duplex Study of Scotum
A Duplex Study of the scrotum is a non-invasive ultrasound test used to evaluate blood flow and detect abnormalities in the scrotal area, such as varicoceles, testicular torsion, or tumors. The procedure combines traditional ultrasound imaging with Doppler ultrasound to assess both the structure and blood flow within the scrotum. During the test, a gel is applied to the scrotum, and a transducer is moved over the area to capture images and blood flow data. The test is typically painless, though some mild discomfort may occur due to the pressure from the transducer.
