SSF from Rt. Foot
SSF (Superficial Scraping for Fungi) from the right foot is a diagnostic test used to detect fungal infections on the skin of the foot. The procedure involves scraping the affected area to collect a sample, which is then sent to a laboratory for culturing. Fungal infections on the feet, such as athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), are commonly caused by dermatophytes (e.g., Trichophyton species), but Candida and other fungi can also be involved. The cultured sample allows the fungi to grow, and sensitivity testing may help identify the most effective antifungal treatment.
