SSF from Right Sole
SSF (Superficial Scraping for Fungi) from the right sole is a diagnostic test used to detect fungal infections on the skin of the sole of the right foot. The procedure involves scraping the affected area to collect a sample, which is then sent to a laboratory for culturing. Fungal infections commonly found on the sole of the foot include Candida (yeast infections) and dermatophytes like Trichophyton species, which cause athlete’s foot (tinea pedis). The cultured sample allows fungi to grow, and sensitivity testing may be done to determine the best antifungal treatment. Results typically take a few days to a week.600 BDT
