SSF (Superficial Scraping for Fungi) from the left foot is a diagnostic test used to detect fungal infections on the skin of the foot. The procedure involves scraping the affected area, such as the toes, soles, or between the toes, to collect a sample, which is then sent to a laboratory for culture. Fungal infections in the foot are commonly caused by dermatophytes (such as Trichophyton species), leading to conditions like athlete’s foot (tinea pedis).
