SSF from Gram Stain refers to a test in which a superficial scraping sample is collected from an affected area (such as skin, wounds, or mucosal surfaces) and then subjected to Gram staining. The Gram stain is a laboratory technique used to differentiate bacterial species into two groups: Gram-positive and Gram-negative, based on their cell wall structure. This procedure is helpful for identifying bacterial infections in superficial skin lesions, abscesses, or wounds. The sample is stained and observed under a microscope to identify the presence of bacteria, which can guide further diagnostic testing or antibiotic treatment.
