Rh Antibody(Anti- D Ab)
The Rh Antibody (Anti-D Ab) test detects antibodies against the Rh factor, a protein on red blood cells. It's used to assess Rh incompatibility, especially during pregnancy or blood transfusions. The test involves a blood draw, typically from the arm. No special preparation is needed. Risks are minimal, mainly bruising or infection at the needle site. During the test, a slight sting or discomfort may occur. Results indicate whether antibodies are present; if positive, further testing or treatment may be required to prevent complications like hemolytic disease in newborns.
