Plasma glucose 3 hrs after 75 gm glucose
This test measures blood glucose levels 3 hours after consuming a 75 gm glucose solution, commonly used to diagnose diabetes or impaired glucose tolerance. Preparation involves fasting for at least 8 hours prior. During the test, the patient drinks the glucose solution, and blood is drawn at the 3-hour mark. Risks include slight discomfort from the blood draw or nausea from the glucose drink. After the test, normal activities can resume.
