Nipple Discharge for GeneXpert(MTB)
This test detects Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB) in nipple discharge, helping diagnose tuberculosis in cases of unexplained discharge. Preparation involves cleaning the nipple area. During the test, a sample of the discharge is collected using a sterile swab. Risks include mild discomfort during sample collection. After the test, no special care is needed. Results are analyzed using the GeneXpert system, which identifies TB DNA and provides rapid results.
