MRV of IVC & Renal Vein
Magnetic Resonance Venography (MRV) of the Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) and renal veins is used to evaluate the blood flow in these major vessels. It helps detect conditions like renal vein thrombosis, stenosis, or abnormal venous drainage, which can affect kidney function. During the procedure, the patient lies on a table, and the abdomen is positioned inside the MRI machine. MRV uses magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed, high-resolution images of the IVC and renal veins, often with the aid of a contrast agent to enhance the visualization of blood vessels.
