MRI of Orbits
An MRI of the orbits is a diagnostic imaging procedure that uses magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed images of the eyes, eye muscles, optic nerves, and surrounding structures within the orbits (eye sockets). It is commonly used to evaluate conditions such as tumors, optic nerve disorders, eye infections, or trauma-related injuries. No special preparation is usually required, though you may be asked to remove metal objects. During the procedure, you will lie still in the MRI machine for 20-30 minutes.
