MRI of the cervical spine with flexion (sagittal + axial) is a specialized imaging procedure that evaluates the cervical spine while the neck is flexed. It helps assess vertebral alignment, disc condition, nerve compression, and spinal canal narrowing. Sagittal imaging provides a side view, while axial imaging offers cross-sectional views. The flexion test reveals abnormal motion or narrowing that may not be visible in a neutral position. Contrast dye may be used for better imaging.
