MRI evaluates brain tissue, helping diagnose conditions like tumors, strokes, and neurodegenerative diseases. MRA (Magnetic Resonance Angiography) focuses on the blood vessels in the brain and neck, identifying blockages, aneurysms, stenosis, or other vascular abnormalities. During the test, you will lie still in an MRI scanner, and a contrast dye may be injected to enhance the images. No special preparation is typically required, but fasting may be recommended if contrast is used. Risks include allergic reactions to the contrast dye and mild discomfort from being in a confined space.
