H. Pylori Antibody
The H. pylori antibody test checks for antibodies against Helicobacter pylori in the blood to detect past or current infection. It involves a simple blood draw, usually from a vein in the arm, and does not require fasting. A positive result indicates exposure to H. pylori but cannot confirm if the infection is active, as antibodies may persist long after the bacteria are eradicated. For active infection diagnosis, additional tests like a urea breath test or stool antigen test may be needed. The procedure is safe with minimal risks, such as slight bruising.
