A Digital X-Ray of the Sternum in Oblique and Lateral views is used to assess the sternum (breastbone) and surrounding structures for fractures, deformities, or abnormalities. In the Lateral view, the X-ray beam is directed from the side to capture a profile of the sternum, while the Oblique view requires the patient to rotate slightly, providing a different angle that can reveal additional details of the bone and its alignment. The patient is typically asked to stand or lie in specific positions, removing any metal objects.
