Preparation involves removing any metal objects, such as jewelry. The procedure is painless, and contrast dye may be used for clearer imaging. Risks include allergic reactions to contrast dye and radiation exposure. Results are interpreted by analyzing the images for elongation, fractures, or other abnormalities.
