Contrast : Gadolinium
Gadolinium is a contrast agent used in MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scans to improve image quality, especially for soft tissues and blood vessels. It enhances the visibility of abnormalities such as tumors, inflammation, or blood vessel conditions by altering the magnetic properties of tissues. Although generally safe, gadolinium can cause side effects like allergic reactions or, in rare cases, Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis (NSF), especially in individuals with severe kidney disease. Patients may be advised to stay hydrated before and after the procedure. Gadolinium is typically injected via an intravenous (IV) line to help ensure accurate diagnosis.2500 BDT
