Choanogram (Nasal)
A Choanogram (Nasal) is a specialized imaging technique used to evaluate the nasal passages and the choanae (the openings at the back of the nasal cavity that connect to the throat). It is typically used to diagnose congenital nasal abnormalities, such as choanal atresia (blockage of the nasal passages), or to assess other nasal obstructions and structural abnormalities. The procedure involves taking an X-ray or sometimes a contrast-enhanced imaging scan of the nasal area. There is minimal preparation, and the patient is usually positioned to allow clear imaging of the nasal cavities. The procedure is quick, non-invasive, and generally well-tolerated.
