A CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) scan of the lower jaw provides detailed 3D images of the lower jaw, including the teeth, roots, bones, and surrounding tissues. It is used for evaluating conditions like fractures, abscesses, infections, jaw deformities, or planning dental implants and orthodontic treatments. During the procedure, the patient remains still while the CBCT machine rotates around the head, capturing high-resolution images. There is usually no special preparation, but you may be asked to remove any metal objects from the area being imaged.
