The Breast Tumor Profile-2 (ER, PR, HER2 & Ki-67) test provides a comprehensive analysis of a breast tumor to inform treatment decisions. It measures the presence of estrogen receptors (ER), progesterone receptors (PR), HER2, and Ki-67, a marker of cell proliferation. ER and PR-positive tumors may respond to hormone therapies, while HER2-positive tumors may benefit from targeted therapies. Ki-67 indicates how quickly cancer cells are dividing; higher levels suggest a more aggressive tumor. The procedure involves obtaining a tissue sample through biopsy.
