USG of Hip joint
An Ultrasound (USG) of the Hip Joint is a diagnostic procedure used to assess the structures around the hip, including muscles, tendons, ligaments, and the joint itself. It helps detect conditions like hip bursitis, tendinitis, joint effusions, labral tears, or developmental hip dysplasia, especially in infants. During the procedure, a gel is applied to the skin over the hip, and a probe (transducer) is moved to capture sound waves, creating real-time images of the joint.
