Urinary Osmolality
The Urinary Osmolality test measures the concentration of dissolved particles, such as salts and waste products, in the urine, helping evaluate kidney function and hydration status. It is typically performed on a random urine sample, although a 24-hour collection may be required in some cases. No special preparation is needed. Risks are minimal, with slight discomfort during collection. Abnormal results may indicate dehydration, kidney disease, or hormonal imbalances, while normal results suggest healthy kidney function and hydration.
